Originating in mid-19th-century England, the Arts & Crafts movement eventually jumped the Atlantic to influence American industrial arts.

U.S. craftsmen incorporated the English appreciation for fine craftsmanship, but also used the advantages of technology, machinery, and manpower to make formerly handcrafted products more affordable. Today, this style is commonly called Mission.

The Franklin, and its shorter cousin the Buckman, were popular early 1900s lighting for dining and living rooms. Pair either fixture with the Austin or Deschutes for a set with authentic Arts & Crafts detail.
