Streamline Reflections
Reflecting the Streamline trend of the late 1930s that emphasized clean aerodynamic lines and a complete lack of ornamentation, the original fixture that our Chase is based on was manufactured by Westinghouse and sold in several different sizes and wattages for commercial applications. In fact, we can quite easily visualize these in our own factory and offices, which were built for the Chase Bag Company in 1939.
A Coincidence
True story: As we wrote those last words above, we realized that not only does the Chase share the name with the company that originally built our factory (not intentional)--but also that if you look on the full catalogue page at right, the Magnalaire Luminaire pendant shown directly above our inspiration is in fact hanging in the lobby of our building right now.
