Until recently, a lowered false ceiling (all the way to the top of the crown on the shelving) obscured the original height of the circa 1880-82 reading room in the Powers Library in Moravia, New York. Now the original ceiling is restored and four Jackson Park fixtures illuminate this graceful interior. The restoration was made possible in part by Crawford & Stearns (Architects and Preservation Planners) of Syracuse, New York. The library is believed to be the oldest continually operated library in New York
