The shape of this soft white 2.5" globe bulb is as close as it gets to the red painted originals used in 1920s and '30s "exposed bulb" fixtures (see Antique Lighting for examples).

Tip: Short-necked globe bulbs don't fit most 2-1/4" fitter glass shades.
