Mission-style lighting was slow to find its way into the kitchen and bathroom. In the early 1900s, these rooms were relatively "style-less" with the focus instead on cleanliness and functionality.

However, as Mission lights like the Bonneville and Deschutes became more familiar, these utilitarian rooms became worthy of decoration, and Mission lights (almost always in Polished Nickel finish) were found to harmonize with the ceramic tiles, built-in tubs, and Medicine Cabinets.
