Brushed Nickel

Description:

Brass, nickel plated: an attractive satin-relieved finish that compares to stainless steel.

Protective Coating:

Baked satin lacquer on hardware only.

Wear Expectations:

Brushed Nickel, a durable, plated coating, will show some slight tarnishing under normal use.

Maintenance:

On House Parts, just wipe with damp cloth to clean. On light fixtures and Coverplates, fingerprints, and other smudges can be removed by wiping with a soft cloth and mild household ammonia. An application of neutral-color wax from time to time can help discourage smudges and fingerprints.

Comments:

Brushed Nickel resembles stainless steel and evokes jet planes and sleek industrial design. But it has, in fact, been around much longer. It's very popular in kitchens and bathrooms, and complements stainless steel or brushed steel appliances.
