New

Our three new Arts & Crafts fixtures are based on one original–cast in iron–that found its way to us a while back. We combed our library of vintage lighting catalogues and found its components in the Faries Manufacturing Company lighting parts catalogue, circa 1913. They show it in solid brass (like ours), so we suspect our original iron version may even be a bit older, say 1905.

The intricate beauty of the original shows that the Arts & Crafts movement wasn't only about right angles and straight lines. Craftspeople often preferred making objects that showed their skill at creating the curved lines, beveled edges, and ornate patterns associated with nature motifs.
