Chandeliers
Shedding A Little Light
Chandelier: a branched often ornate lighting fixture suspended from a ceiling. - Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
Apologies to Merriam-Webster, but "chandelier" does not necessarily mean "fancy fixture."
While branched-arm lights are more complex structures than, say, pendants, it takes ornate parts to make an ornate fixture.
Case in point: The straightforward Hewitt is a far cry from the decorative South Shore, yet both are chandeliers.
