Pair of Handsome Plaster Lion Cartouches Item # F1953

Circa 1930

Depending on who you ask, these rare snarling charmers were either salvaged from a 1930's New England movie theater or an East Coast 1920's boardwalk carousel. Either way, they're just about as handsome as they come. While they were cast from the same mold, they were hand painted, so individual character can be found in each. Both lions come with a steel hook on the back plate, so they are ready to hang right out of the box.

While these lions have survived the last 80-odd years very well, there are a few chips and nicks in the plaster and paint, which are all commensurate with age. Review all of the photos for details of the wear.

  • Historical Style: Classical Revival
