Superb Red and White Drunkard's Path Checkerboard Quilt Item # F2137

Circa 19th Century

Hand selected on a recent trip to Texas, this beautifully preserved quilt features several traditional techniques and patterns, including checkerboard squares, offset with contrasting circles – this is often known as the Drunkard's Path or Solomon's Puzzle. The piece is edged with a white, which is well-preserved and intact, while the back is white work stitching, based on the pattern on the front.

  • Historical Style: Traditional
  • Condition Notes: The white has yellowed with age. Also some small stains and creases – but in good condition for something so old.
