Double-Sided Neon Liquor Sign w/ Porcelain Faceplates Item # F2947
Once in a blue moon we come across a neon sign with porcelain enamel face plates and we get very excited. This holy grail of vintage signs proudly advertises LIQUOR for the no-nonsense blue-collar joe, instantly evoking an entire vanished era of delis and corner stores in that one brief word. This sign, made by the William J. Rueff Company of Louisville, Kentucky (they still exist, by the way), is all original but for the tubes - finish and construction are all in place, but we've restored the neon to full glory so that it will glow for many more years to come. We estimate it dates from the late 1930s or early 1940s. Two steel 12" arms emerge from the top of the metal box, so that this sign can hang from a cross bar or stand on a ledge.
This piece ships by Curbside delivery and will land curb side. Upon placing your order you will be contacted by a customer service associate to discuss delivery time and details as they pertain to this one of a kind item.
- Historical Style: Industrial/Mid-Century
