Pair of Painted Tin Gryphon Cartouches Item # F4058

Circa 1900s

Whether salvaged from a building facade, or an impressive barback, these painted tin gryphon cartouches are about as handsome as they come. While they were stamped from the same mold, they were hand painted, so individual character can be found in each, especially as the paint has worn away over the years. Wonderful wall decor, meant to inspire your love of Classical mythology and monstrous creatures.

  • Historical Style: Classical Revival
  • Condition notes: Very worn paint, which has be clear-coated to prevent further decay. One of the gryphons has a slightly pinched nose – see all photos for details.
