Rustic Mobil Oil Gas Station Sign Item # F4939

Circa 1940s

As one of the most iconic and recognizable company emblems in United States history, the Mobil Gas Pegasus has served as the guardian to many American roadways and rest stops. This handsome steel sign dates from the 1940s.

The particularly raw and weathered condition of this mid-century version of the iconic gas station sign is worth noting - this is a truly unique piece. While this sign does shine brightly with its original steel body and iron frame, the many chips and rust in the surface reveal the steel metal underneath, though this only serves to add to the character and authenticity of this barn-fresh piece.

  • Historical Style: Industrial
  • Condition notes: All original steel with iron frame – plenty of chips and rust in various locations (see second photo for details).
