Framed Planetarium Engraving Item # F5095

Circa 1815

Presented here is a beautifully framed copperplate engraving, depicting an early 19th century planetarium, which would have shown the orbits of the planets (note that there are only 7 planets). The planetarium operated via a simple hand crank, the mechanics of which are also called out in the engraving.

Framed in a period appropriate silver and black moulding, matted, and protected by UV-treated plexi-glass. This piece comes ready to hang.

  • Condition notes: Some age spots in the paper.
