Framed Eye Life Studies by Clara Nowak Item # F6426

Circa 1929

This framed piece hails from a collection of amateur works by Clara Nowak. The set dates from 1929 to 1936 and features remarkable works of hand lettering, color studies, line studies, patterns, life drawings and silhouettes. Based on the subject matter, we imagine the collection comes from Clara's art school days – and she was an impressive student. The assortment consists of traditional still lives and portraits, as well as unique, Modernist monograms and emblems.

While each piece is presented individually, the collection can also be enjoyed as a whole. Every work has been set in a simple, modern frame with bright white matting – all encased under a pane of UV-treated plexi-glass.

  • Historical Style: Modern
  • Series of life drawings, focusing on eyes.
  • Interesting shading and line practice.
  • Hand-painted, with opaque black acrylic.
