Bronze 5-Light Sunburst Semi-Flush w/ Beaded Bulb Cover by Caldwell c1920s Item # R4196
Exposed bulbs were widely popular lighting choices during the 1910's and '20's, and so was a free exploration of Classical Revival motifs. That style teamed for a high-end, yet traditional look, which was well-suited for the countless houses built during the period. Flush mounts and semi-flush lights like this one were great for all the lower-ceiling'ed upper levels of those homes, and were most often found in hallways or small bedrooms. This five light example, cast from bronze, was distributed by E.F. Caldwell and bears his signature Venetian-inspired sunburst, acanthus leaves, an acorn finial, as well as five handmade (new) beaded crystal bulb covers.
- Historical Style: Classical Revival
- Notes: Original bronze finish is irregular
