Early & Very Rare Converted Gas-Electric 6-Light Chandelier Item # R4197
A unique and unexpected find, this incredible 6-light chandelier was made from gas components, reconfigured to allow for electricity. Notice the external metal mesh-covered cord, which channeled the electric cable from the canopy to the body of the fixture. Any early-electricity-lover would appreciate this piece, but its charm would also be enjoyed by Victorian-era enthusiasts, or anyone who loved history and character.
Paired with a set of fleur de lis French etched shades, fitted for both the down electric lights and the (now converted) gas lights. Note that the components are covered with brass and silver-plating – perfectly worn from over 100 years of age.
- Historical Style: Victorian
- Condition Notes: Plenty of wear in the original finish – all commensurate with age and character.
- Bulbs not included.
