Late Victorian Japanned Copper Pendant C1905 Item # R4246
A wallflower of sorts among its contemporaries (or should we say, a ceiling-flower), this elegantly straightforward 2-Light pendant may seem a little on the Plain-Jane side, but the better you get to know it, the more irresistible its charms become. Immensely popular in a wide range of settings, from residential to commercial, during the 1895-1910 period, basic fixtures like this one with its ball body and simple curved arms were much more common that you might imagine today. They are so direct and functional, you might almost see them as industrial, but they were considered bread-and-butter beauties in the waning days of the carbon filament bulb, and were found in stores, hotels, dance halls, apartments, offices and homes by the tens of thousands.
- Historical Style: Late Victorian
