Five-Light Transitional Chandelier w/ Tri-Toned Finish Item # R5391
Following the dazzling worldwide success of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, Art Deco was introduced to the world as the style of the future. Characterized by symmetrical patterns using straight lines and geometry, as well as stylized and angular interpretations of natural forms, Art Deco designers employed a variety of finishes and polishes to affect their distinctive and futuristic designs. Tiered, stacked and elongated architectural forms informed the same massing in lighting, from Sky-scraper shades to Ziggurat finials. While Art Deco lighting was typical in commercial and municipal structures in its day, these impressive fixtures make great focal points for today’s homes of any style. Transitional iterations include Streamline and Moderne – the entire period spans from the mid-1920’s through the early 1940’s.

- An unusual combination of Colonial and Art Deco, with tiers and trumpets, combined with smoke chimney-style cup shades.
