Illuminated Elevator Indicator Sign Item # R7119

Circa 1950s

This car up! Originally, this remarkable light would have hung above a bank of elevators in a bustling mid-century building. Made from a plate of brass with slumped plastic chevrons, the sign is wired to light first one, then the other side – but both or neither can be illuminated as well. We rebuilt the light by mounting it on a panel of oak, added a knurled rotary switch and counter-sunk mounting holes, which are accessible behind the plastic chevrons.

  • Historical Style: Industrial / Mid-Century
  • Condition Notes: Nicely weathered finish on the brass plate – all commensurate with age and character.
  • Bulbs not included.
