Rose-Gold Toned Mid-Century Pendant w/ Perforated Reflector Item # R7850
The Modern industrial design movement emerged from the efficiency and urgency of the second World War - the Modern decorative arts movement emerged from the joy and relief that came after the War ended. Mid-Century Modern design is accessible, popular and hopeful – the future seemed awfully bright after 1945! Using innovative technologies created during wartime that bent, molded and multiplied materials to maximize efficiency, designers like Eames, Saarinen and Nelson were able to bring their creations to the world en masse afterward. Mid-Century Modern lighting is characterized by these new technologies, both manmade and natural materials, experimental forms and “futuristic” patterns inspired by the postwar space race. The ideals of the Mid-Century Modern movement are still relevant today, making these lights as popular as ever.
