Rare Classical Revival Elevator Indicator Light Item # R8052

Circa 1920

Going up? This copper and cast glass lighted elevator sign brings with it all of the majesty and stateliness of the Beaux-Arts style. We senators queuing up for quorum calls outside bays of elevators, which come and go with the aid of these handsome indicators. We love the original worn copper plating on the curve of the fixture, but the cast glass arrows (white for up; red for down) absolutely steal the show. Currently, this unique sconce is wired so that both the up and down arrows light simultaneously, but, if desired, they could be connected to switches that would toggle between the colors. Even if your home doesn't have an elevator, this is an elegant and uniquely historic addition to any space.

  • Historical Style: Beaux-Arts
  • Note: This is currently wired for both lights to go on at the same time, although it could easily be re-wired to illuminate separately.
  • Bulbs not included.
