Extraordinary Gas/Electric 9-Light Victorian Chandelier Item # R8605
A rare survivor from the early days of electricity, this gas/electric 9-light stunner – now fully electrified – has all the transitional character that makes lighting of the turn of the century so interesting. The remarkable reeded rectangular tubes of the gas arms, swooping through a hoop in the delicately constructed swirling straps, is far beyond anything we have seen before, both in terms of technical prowess and in light fixture design. The tracery of the arms gracefully complements the perforated spun brass spheres and spindle body, but the eyes of the true dyed-in-the-wool lighting enthusiast will be drawn irresistibly to the incredibly unique and original cast metal gas keys. Features a phenomenal set of etched pressed-glass shades, including a 9th that points down through the center!
- Historical Style: Victorian: Eastlake
- Condition Notes: The original finish was lost, so we added a matte lacquer to compliment the antiqued brass, as well as the incredible forms and shades.
- Bulbs not included.
