Weathered Early-Century Billiard Light Item # R9620

Circa 1910

Made from brass and galvanized tin, this painted pendant would have hung above a billiards table in the early 20th century. The weathered green and gold paint only add to the character of the piece, which encases 3 bulbs in a silver-painted reflector shade. Likely by Brunswick, and perhaps as old as the mid-late 1800s.

In the early 1900's, the game of billiards was all the rage. A fixture designed to properly light a billiards table required both a long and narrow spread and an even distribution of strong downward light– characteristics also ideal over kitchen islands, dining room tables, and work spaces.

  • Historical Style: Classic
  • Condition Notes: The weathered nature of the piece is all part of the character of the light.
