Ultra-Rare 5-Light Billiard Chandelier w/ Oak Frame Item # R9621
This stunning 5-light billiard chandelier dates to the early 1900's, a time when the game of billiards was gaining popularity and Victorian ornate design was giving way to the less decorative styles of the early 20th century. Handcrafted with an oak frame (complete with mortise and through-tenon joints), each arm extends to support a set of very rare matching cased green and white glass shades that direct light down to where the action is taking place. Made oak with iron chains.
In the early 1900s, the game of billiards was all the rage. A fixture designed to properly light a billiards table required a long and narrow spread and an even distribution of strong downward light– characteristics also ideal over kitchen islands, dining room tables, and work spaces.
- Historical Style: Arts & Crafts
- Condition Notes: Wonderfully aged finish in the wood and metal components. The ball is a period replacement, while the canopy is a period-appropriate reproduction.
- Bulbs not included.
