During the war, Samuel and his wife were tragically persecuted for their religion, and were killed at Auschwitz. After the war, a friend of the couple, M.C. Esher, was able to recover Jessurun de Mesquita's works to be preserved. Our Wall Art Collection is curated and reproduced in partnership with the Rijksmuseum.
